Oooh, Prismera Design, who makes some of my faaaavorite jewelry, um, ever, has expanded their line to include "everyday design."  As to be expected, it's lovely and just like their jewelry, it's eco-friendly too!
Prismera Design handmade cards
I especially like these gorgeous recycled paper postcards in simple black and silver designs, perfect for the new year.  And this little handmade birch box with a wood-grain design on top- too cute!  With the felt insert included, it makes for just about the best jewelry gift box I think I've ever seen.

Eco-Friendly Find: Rifferaff

Since writing about Rifferaff's new line of gift wrap around this time last year, the creator, Shannon, has been really working hard, stepping up her production and expanding the Rifferaff line to include cards and journals, gift boxes and stationery sets, and of course, new gift wrap and gift tag designs.  Through it all, she has remained commited to keeping whatever she creates sustainable, hand screen-printing her contemporary designs with water based ink on 100% recycled paper.  Cheers to Shannon for growing her business so well over this past year, and keeping it eco-friendly all the while!

Eco-Friendly Find: Avie Designs

I've been checking all of this month's giveaway participants further myself, and I must say I'm quite impressed!  There's so many talented people involved, I feel honored to host you all!  One participant in particular that I think deserves more attention is Avie Designs, creator of modern and colorful papergoods:
Avie
Avie Designs makes all sorts of wonderful paper items including notepads, calling cards, a calendar and customizable return labels, but I especially love their stationery sets; not only are they beautiful, they're earth-friendly too, each printed on recycled paper with soy based inks.  There's a stationery set included in the giveaway (that you could win!) and it's even more lovely in person.  What a nice way to send a hello to a friend far away.  Check out all the papery goodness at Avie Designs, and enter to win a stationery set in the Spooktacular giveaway!

Moving Day!

I'm moving, I'm moving!  As we speak actually (thru the magic of pre-posting! :)  Into a big house with a HUUUUUUUUGE park-like backyard for our doggie to run around in and a covered deck for us to stay dry under.  It's a rental, so we have to stick with the pastel paint colors as is (they range from eh to eww) but I can't wait to decorate and settle in and make it feel like our home.  These cool cards by Robin 101 remind me of how fun it is to add some personality to every room, and of the simple treasures of home life vs. apt life that we sometimes take for granted (like a washing machine! In my house? That is not coin operated? Holy great moly, I cannot wait!)
Robin101
Find more beautiful and colorful cards and prints at Robin 101.  Now, time for me to get back to unpacking!  I won't have internet set up in the new house til sometime on Tuesday (if all goes well!!) so I'll be back again with regular posting once it's working again.  See you soon!

Eco-Friendly Find: Mingus Designs

I was originally drawn into the pure adorableness of Mingus Designs' bags and stationery, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they are eco-friendly as well!
Mingus
The Australian based designer uses only hemp, a hemp/organic cotton blend, and organic cotton canvas when crafting her handy dandy bags and coin pouches.  She then hand screen-prints them with adoooorable, nature inspired designs (my favorite is the bunny pile!) for an end result that's both easy on the eyes and on the planet.  Check out her line of recycled cards too, all at Mingus Designs!

Write away...

I've been exploring DaWanda a lot lately (for a reason to be revealed very soon!) and I really regret not getting in there and looking around sooner, because I have found a wealth, a goldmine, a vast extravaganza! of handmade wonderfulness from many artists that I've never seen before!  I will try to incorporate some of my new found obsessions in upcoming posts from here on out, but the first one that I must share with you is a little German based shop, Sieben Morgen:
Siebenmorgen
Oh, my heart quakes at every cute little hand-printed paper goodie in the shop!  There are moleskine journals, gift tags galore, beautiful hand-stamped cards, magnets, original artwork and goodie bags full of fun things... there were at least 40 other items I would have liked to include in the photo above, but alas, you'll have to go off and explore on your own- I'm sure you'll find quite a few favorites of your own at Sieben Morgen!

Little treasures

I just discovered Paperiaarre (which is Finnish for "paper treasure") on Etsy's front page and am almost sad that I hadn't found them sooner!  The shop is filled with luxe paper treasures, like beautiful linen wrapped journals for your doodling pleasure and little matchstick style books "of good things" filled with 25 thoughts to cheer you up when you're feeling blue, like "mutual love" and "migratory birds."
Paperiaarre
There's also lovely screen-printed zippered bags and brooches made of linen, along with beautiful brooches made from pages of old Finnish botany books.  Everything is so clean, simple and nature inspired- the collection is just beautiful.  Visit Paperiaarre to find more wonderful little treasures like these!

Como se llama? LAMA!

If you want some color, some spice, some Latin flavor for your home, look no further than brand spankin' new shop, LAMA!  Filled with wonderful handmade and small-production designs by Latino artists from both abroad and the US, LAMA (which stands for Latin America in the Modern Age) is a fantastic shop filling a much needed niche.
Lama
From ceramics and pillows to paper goods and comfy hammocks, LAMA's style is vivid and vibrant.  It brings much deserved attention to Latino independent designers, helping them reach an audience that some of them may not have had access to before.  Although many designs embrace traditional handicrafts and imagery, everything on the site has a distinctly contemporary feel, bringing the beauty of Latin heritage and art right in line with modern style.
Lama2
I am head over heels with this shop, I wish I could show you everything, but alas, you'll have to check it out yourself.  Christine you did a great job!  Congratulations!  LAMA, te amo mucho!

Welcome!
